Have you deprioritised the things that make you feel good?

This post was inspired by a podcast episode where I talked to Elise Finn about how to manage emotions and the importance of looking after our own wellbeing first.

Over 20 years of starting, scaling and selling businesses, I’ve learned what I need to do to take care of myself, and how vital that is to the success of my company.

And yet I’ve noticed last week I was doing less of those things. Even though now is when I need to do them the most.

When I spoke with Elise Finn for the latest episode of Starting To Scale podcast, she reminded me that the relationship I needed to nurture the most was the relationship I had with myself.

Which made me reflect on how somehow I’ve forgotten to do the things that I know help me to feel good.

To meditate. To exercise. And to make time to relax and have fun. To prioritise my well-being.

Maybe not forgotten.

Maybe deprioritised.

Because they can’t be measured.

They don’t feed a sense of achievement.

Because the fear of our current situation has driven me to do, do, do.

But I know I can’t take care of my business unless I take care of me first.

A lot is out of our hands right now.

But we do have a choice about how we treat ourselves.

Have you deprioritised the things that make you feel good?

What could you do more (or less) to improve your well-being today?
